Social Studies 3/23 - 3/27

Parents and Students - 

This week, we will be studying the Rwandan Genocide.  As part of the unit, I am planning on showing the film "Hotel Rwanda" beginning tomorrow.  The film is rated PG-13 and has some pretty intense content.  You can read some information for parents about the movie HERE (link).  If you have any concerns about your child viewing this film, please let me know and I will have an alternative assignment available to them.  Thanks and have a great week!

Social Studies 3/16-3/20

Parents and Students - 

This week, we will be wrapping up Section 1 of Chapter 4.  We will take a quiz on Friday (1st and 2nd Periods might not take the quiz until Monday due to the 3rd Qt. Awards Assembly).  It is a 5-question, fill-in-the-blank quiz.  Study resources for the quiz can be found HERE (link).  Thanks and have a great week!

Social Studies 3/2 - 3/6

Parents and Students - 

This week, we will be starting Section 4 from Chapter 3.  We will be having a quiz on Friday, March 6th.  It will be a matching quiz.  Student study resources can be found here (LINK).  

Also, students can still make corrections on the Presidential Speeches assessment.  If students want to make corrections, they must come and talk to me during ISP.  We will discuss their responses and I will tell them what they have to do to earn some points back.  I will need all corrections to be turned in by the end of the day on Thursday, March 5th.

Last reminder...we will have PARCC testing on Wednesday, March 4th.  Please make sure that your child is well-rested and has a good breakfast that morning!
