Weekly Social Studies Updates

6th Grade Updates:

6th graders will begin Section 5 of Ch. 3.  We will not be taking the Section 5 quiz until Thursday, March 13th.  There will be no quizzes or tests during ISATs.  Student resources for Section 5 can be found HERE (link).


Also, 6th graders will be taking a test over Chapter 3 on Monday, March 17th.  I will provide a study guide as soon as I have it completed.  There will be study sessions for this test on Thursday, March 13th before school (7am-8am) and after school (3:15-4:15).  


7th Grade Updates:

7th Graders will continue working on their research papers.  The rough draft will be due this week.  The final paper is due on Monday, March 3rd.  


During ISATs, 7th graders will not have any quizzes or tests.

Social Studies 2/18 - 2/21

7th Grade:

7th graders will continue to work on their research papers.  By next Friday, students should have at least 8 research note cards, 5 sources (including at least 1 book), a thesis statement that has been approved by me, a paragraph outline (that has a topic sentence for each body paragraph), introductory and concluding paragraphs, and a research paper outline.  Student resources for the research paper can be found HERE (link).  The final paper will be due on March 1st.

6th Grade:

6th graders will be finishing up Section 4 of Chapter 3.  We will be taking a quiz on Friday.  Student study materials can be found HERE (link).

Social Studies 2/10-2/14

6th Grade:

6th graders will be taking the 3-3 quiz on Monday.  This will be a multiple choice quiz.  Study materials can be found HERE (link).  After the quiz, we will start Section 4 of Chapter 3.  This is a pretty long section and we will be spending about two weeks on it.

7th Grade:

7th graders are going to be spending the next three weeks working on a research paper.
